Fishing Regulations

Provincia di Belluno – Bacino di Pesca n. 4
To fish legally in the waters of the Province of Belluno and within Bacino di Pesca nr. 4, anglers are required to carry:

• A valid identity document (ID card).
• A temporary permit issued by the concession holder of Bacino nr. 4.
• Recreational fishing requires the Type D Licence, evidenced by the receipt of payment of the regional fishing tax.

For the Veneto fishing licence (Type D), the payment receipt serves in place of a physical licence.
The cost is €13.00 and is valid for 3 months from the date of payment.

Mandatory rules for completing the permit
Before starting to fish, anglers must record the following details in the spaces provided, either on the paper Permit (using indelible black or blue ink) or on the digital Permit:

• a) Month and Day, before starting to fish;
• b) Fishing zone, before starting to fish;
• c) Salmonids retained, immediately after creeling, specifying the species;
• d) The Zone where the fish caught was retained;
• e) Salmonids retained, divided between Morning and Afternoon;
• f) Whitefish, carp and tench retained (immediately after creeling), and perch subject to catch quotas (at every break in fishing, even a temporary one).

Important notes:

• In waters classified as salmonid waters within Bacino 04, anglers who are members of one or more Bacini within the Province of Belluno are exempt from the requirement to carry the regional fishing card, but must always carry their annual membership booklet.
• For the special fishing areas Catch & Release Zone “P” – NO KILL Zone “O”, anglers must hold a special permit issued by authorised personnel of the fishing district.
• Anglers who have purchased a temporary permit are required to return it by 31 October to the point of sale where it was purchased, or send it by post to: A.S.D. Pescatori Sportivi Centro Cadore, Via IV Novembre 11, c.p. 6, 32040 Grea di Cadore, in order to avoid the penalties set out in the regulations.

a) Only one rod may be used (with or without a reel), fitted with a single hook with a single point. Exceptions apply to artificial lures (maximum two hooks, each ending in one or more points) and to moschiera- or camolera-type rigs (maximum three hooks), or a single leader carrying one artificial fly only (coda di topo).
b) Dead fish used as natural bait may only be used from 1 June, and must not exceed 9 cm in length.
c) On Lake Centro Cadore, artificial lures over 9 cm must always be preceded by a steel, braided or fluorocarbon trace.
d) Artificial lures over 9 cm may only be used from 1 June.
e) For artificial lures over 9 cm, a maximum of two single-point, barbless hooks are permitted.
f) The use of the Boga-grip is strictly prohibited.
g) The gape of the hook (for both natural and artificial bait) must not exceed 2.5 cm.
h) Hooks used with natural bait with a gape greater than 1.5 cm must be barbless.
i) For natural bait, the hook may only have a single point (treble hooks or multi-point hooks are prohibited).
j) In the No Kill zones and at Erto, a single barbless hook is compulsory for every type of bait.
k) It is forbidden to carry non-permitted natural baits at the fishing site.
l) On Lake Centro Cadore, the use of two rods is permitted.
m) Exclusively for perch fishing on Lake Centro Cadore, if a single rod is used, the tackle may be fitted with up to 3 hooks carrying artificial lures (“ciucci”).
n) In the marble trout protection zone (Piave south, Zone “G”), fishing is permitted with a single rod and a single barbless hook (multiple points allowed only on artificial lures).
o) If a fish to be released has swallowed the natural bait and the hook is not visible in the mouth, the line must be cut without pulling the hook out.
p) A landing net (maximum diameter or side length of 50 cm) is permitted only as an aid for landing a hooked fish.
q) Use of an unhooking mat is compulsory when fishing for pike on Lake Centro Cadore.

• Marble Trout/Hybrid, Grayling, Pike, Barbel, Savetta and Pigo: Retention prohibited (at any size).
• Brown trout: 22 cm (Note: retention is prohibited in Zone G of the southern Piave).
• Arctic char: 25 cm.
• Whitefish: 30 cm.
• Lake trout: 35 cm.
• European perch: 15 cm.
• Chub: 25 cm.
• Tench: 40 cm.
• Carp: 40 cm.
• Rainbow trout: No minimum size.

Anglers are required to show their documents, equipment, creel and catch to enforcement officers upon request. Refusal to do so will result in disciplinary penalties.

Obtaining the permit implies full acceptance of the association’s regulations. For anything not expressly specified, the laws in force in the Regione Veneto and the Provincia di Belluno shall apply. Violations are subject to the administrative penalties set out in Article 33 of Regional Law no. 09 of 11/05/2015.
